Karakoram International University, Ghizer Campus established the Department of Biological Science (Zoology) in July 2018, to meet the quality knowledge in the field of Zoology, and Initiated its aim with BS, MSc programs of Zoology. The major emphasis of this program is in the areas of Fisheries, Entomology, Wildlife, Parasitology, Biodiversity Conservation, FreshWater Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology and Economic Zoology which are in the context of local needs of District Ghizer, Gilgit-Baltistan. In terms of the number of students, Faculty and published research articles it is the largest and most productive department of KIU Ghizer Campus. The student’s intake is generally in accordance with the university policy, i.e. both in spring and fall semesters of each year. The department is highly equipped with all sorts of chemicals and books. The department has rich sources and resources for Fisheries, Entomology and Parasitology. We hope that it would be an excellent center of learning and research in near future and would contribute to the development of the areas and in turn the country.
